To get to Simonsbath Barton, take the M5 to Junction 27 for Tiverton. Take the North Devon Link Road (A361) to South Molton. At the first roundabout that is signed South Molton, carry straight on. You then pass a turn signed North Molton; carry on. Shortly after, you will come to the second South Molton roundabout. Turn right there onto the A399, signed Ilfracombe and Blackmoor Gate etc. After about 1.5 miles, take a right fork to Simonsbath (signed unsuitable for heavy vehicles). Carry straight on for about 7-8 miles up onto the moor until you come to Simonsbath. Cross the little bridge into Simonsbath village and turn left at the T-junction with Simonsbath House Hotel in front of you. After about 50 yards, keep right at the junction and stay on the road signed Lynton and Lynmouth (B3223). Start to go up the hill out of the village; you will see a house on the left and some farm buildings opposite on the right. Both are between the two sets of rumble strips (if you cross the second set of rumble strips, you have gone too far). Turn left immediately after the house on the left, into a small lane. Bear right into the stable yard and go between the buildings and the new drive to the cottage starts immediately in front of you. As you come into the first big field, you have to do a sharp 90 degree turn to the right and follow the track around the field – do not give up! Carry on for about a mile through various gates to the cottage.
